    How do you get the net out from under the person once they are on the toilet/bath chair??! Every video skips that part! I'm so confused!?!

      You don’t move it. That’s why the sling has the commode cut out (the hole in the sling) so they can do what they need without having to move it. If the patient had taken a shower what helps me is putting a beach towel on the bed so to minimize wetness when transferring back to bed. Hope that helps.

      Yes. I'm having to do it with my father. I have him rollover and hold on to the rail as I place the sling under him. Exact same method as the video.

    You should make a video about lifting a patient off the floor. That is the reason I got one of these, for when my wife falls. The overall procedure is the same except the legs have to straddle the patient.

      Belt under arms ( 2 people) one hand on belt one under arm...position yourself to side of patient place stool behind back and buttox. short Stool to reg stool. Reg stool to chair transfer. Cuts the weight in half and moving if the patient is heavy

    Problem is assistant living and personal care facilities are not permitted such apparatuses. All lifting is done manually. There is no safe way to lift a resident weighting over 200 lbs if you have a small frame.

    It IS our job, but how do we take the simplicity of that word & imbue it with our desire to get up every day & do what we love doing while making it not look like some wooden task with rote meaning. I often tell families that I don't find the work hard, as is often quoted to me, but the hours can be. It's the hardest 'job' I've ever loved. And working with like-minded people, all speaking the same language, with the same giving mentality, is a true blessing for those of us who have CHOSEN this profession.

      The straps are based on the individual. but I always use blue on top when putting someone in the chair because it helps sit them up so, you don't have to pull later. Let the hoyer work for you. Even when putting them in get behind and pull them to the head then lower the lift. No boost later. Let the hoyer work for you.
